Madonna, Lady Gaga e Amanda Palmer

Ela emburrou, fez uma música e colocou no You Tube. Aí ele colocou no blog dele.

Aí eu coloquei no meu! Eu achei isso muito fofo!!!

Letra (o que eu suponho que esteja ouvindo) e o que desconfio que seja a tradução.

This is a song I just wrote, like, twenty-five minutes ago, so I had to write it, and set up a discussion in it. But I’m trying to post it straight to YouTube for the first time. Instead of writing on a blog about our discussion about Lady Gaga, I’ll write this song. It’s called Gaga, Palmer and Madonna.

O nome é Lady Gaga, Palmer e Madonna.

She is a part of the music continuum
(Ela é parte do contínuo musical)

And she is a part of this difficult world
(e ela é parte deste mundo difícil)
She wears outfits made of alumin(i)um
(e ela usa roupa feita de alumínio)

She is a twenty-three
(ela é uma moça de vinte e três...)
She is a twenty-three
She is a twenty-three and a half a year girl.
(...anos e meio de idade)

I am part of the music continuum
(Eu sou parte do contínuo musical)
And I’m a part of this difficult world
(e sou parte deste mundo difícil)

And I’m often naked and play the accordion
(eu fico nua frequentemente e toco acordeão)

I am a thirty-three
I am a thirty-three
I am a thirty-three and a half year old girl
(anos e meio de idade)

She is a part of the music continuum
(Ela é parte do contínuo musical)
And also a part of this difficult world
(também é parte deste mundo difícil)

She was the first one to often have no clothes on
(Ela foi a primeira a tirar a roupa)

She is not fifty-three
(Ela não tem cinquenta e três)
She is only fifty, but
(Ela só tem cinquenta, mas)

I used her anyway…
(eu usei ela de qualquer jeito)

(Be) cause she fits well in this song
(porque ela fica ótima nessa música)

Art is great that way
(Arte é legal assim…)

You can do anything

(Você pode fazer qualquer coisa)
You can make pop music
(Pode fazer música popular)

You can paint ducks
(Pode pintar patos.)

But if you’re a pop star
(Mas se você é uma estrela pop)

And you’re a woman
(e é uma mulher)

Then, it’s much more likely
(é mais provável)
That people will say your art sucks

Making pop music isn’t for everyone

Actually that’s wrong – and technically it is.
(Na verdade é errado – e tecnicamente é)

That’s why it’s Pop Music
(Por isso é Musica Popular)

Now I’ve confused myself
(Agora eu fiquei confusa)

I’m gonna start a new verse
(vou começar um novo verso)

And I will say it like this
(Mas antes vou falar isso aqui...)

Some artists focus on love and simplicity
(Alguns artistas focam na simplicidade e no amor)

Some artists focus on fashion and fame
(Alguns focam na moda e na fama)

But sometimes some artists try to do everything,
(mas às vezes um tenta fazer tudo)

Which is impossible.
(o que é impossível)
I think these people are brave
(Acho essas pessoas corajosas)

George Michael é um poeta e tanto. Bom equilíbrio entre cultura e pop.

Art is simple, just ask Andy Warhol
(Arte é simples, pergunte a Andy Warhol)

If he weren't dead he would tell you the truth

Call it a masterpiece, call it a urinal
(Chame de obra-prima, chame de urinol)

It doesn’t matter, it’s art
(Não importa, é arte)
So there’s nothing to prove.

I’m not sure what the point of this song was
And I know this song doesn't actually have to have.
(e eu sei que ela não tem que ter um motivo)
Any point at all, even good rhymes in it.
( nem sentido nem rima boa)
Like Lady Gaga, and also Madonna
(Como Lady Gaga e também a Madonna)
I’m just trying to entertain people, make a living and pay my rent
(Eu só estou tentando divertir as pessoas, ganhar a vida e pagar o aluguel)
Without having to get a job I hate
Andhopefullyfindanaudiencewho’dloveandacceptme
(Ecomsorteacharumpúblicoquemeameemeaceite)
AndnotthinkI’manarcisistforwantingtobeaperformer
(Enãoachequeeusounarcisistaporquererserartista)
Andfindtrueinnerpeace and that’s it.
(Eacharaverdadeirapazinterior e acabou)
Except for this…
(a não ser por isso...)

Sorry, I had to scroll
(Desculpa, tenho que baixar a página)

Now a question to further our dialogue
(Agora uma pergunta para aprofundar nosso diálogo)
Is all art real art and is Pop Art art?
(Toda arte é de verdade e Pop Art é arte?)

And if someone talented
(E se alguém talentoso)

Wants to make Pop Music
(quiser fazer Música Popular)
Why should we worry
(Por que se importar)

When there’s so much other shit wrong?

I’m putting that way…
(Vou largar isso...)

This song took less time to write and record and

post straight onto youTube than writing a blog.
(e postar no YouTube do que escrever no blog)

I think it’s possible I may do more of this.
(Pode ser que eu faça mais destas)

Please send your comments
(Mande seus comentários)
Especially if you think I’m wrong.

Thank you so much gement. Now it's done.

Ai que postagem grande!!!
Ps TPM: Odeio Funk!!!

Seja bem-vinda. Quanto a Amanda, bota maluquices nisso.

Sempre criativa :)

  3. A few corrections/refinements for your lyrics where it changes the meaning (thank you for the translations!):

and she's a part of this *difficult* world.

    She's only fifty, but
    I used her anyway
(be)cause she fits well in this song.

I'm gonna start a new *verse*
and I'll say it like this

    ...ask Andy Warhol,
If he *weren't dead* he would tell you the truth,

I'm not sure what the point of this song was,
and I know this song doesn't actually have to have
any point at all, not even good rhymes in it

This song took less time to write and record and post
straight onto youtube than writing a blog.
I think it's possible I may do more of these.
